Curating and Advisory

Art Elsewhere is a curatorial platform and advisory dedicated to supporting contemporary artists through research-led practice and critical exchange, founded by Senem Cagla Bilgin-Keys in 2017 in London.

Working at the intersection of artistic practice, theory, and exhibitions, the platform fosters artist-centred dialogues and develops curatorial projects that expand ways of thinking within today’s cultural landscape.

Senem Cagla Bilgin-Keys is an independent curator, advisor, and founder of Art Elsewhere. Her curatorial practice focuses on environmental and social issues, including ecology, migration, and identity. Drawing on her academic background BA in Art History from Hacettepe University and an MA in Culture, Criticism and Curation from Central Saint Martins, she brings a research-driven and conceptually rigorous approach to both exhibition projects and strategic advisory for galleries, collectors, and artists across Europe and West Asia.

Her curatorial work spans solo and group exhibitions, including Pei-yi Tsai’s [Insert] at SLQS Gallery, Amelia Bowles’ site-responsive installation Komorebi at Sunny Bank Mills Museum & Archive, and the group exhibitions ‘Unity’ in collaboration with Arebyte Gallery and Trinity Buoy Wharf, 'When Is Now?' and 'What Will Not Bend, Will Break' at Vision London. Since 2013, she has worked alongside leading galleries and institutions including Tate Patrons, Lehmann Maupin (London) and Podbielski Contemporary (Milan).

She is particularly committed to creating opportunities for emerging and independent artists, supporting their career, cultivating sustainable, long-term relationships that support their artistic development through an arts patronage program she recently developed.

A regular contributor to art publications and participant in international fairs with her platform Art Elsewhere, she works at the intersection of artistic practice and research, fostering dialogues that are artist-centered, generate curatorial projects, and bring fresh perspectives to the creative industry.
